美国当地时间8月12日,《Money》杂志在综合了美国教育部、 Peterson's和PayScale的数据后,发表了最新全美性价比最高的大学排名。
从排名结果来看,加州大学尔湾分校被评为全美性价比最高的学校,第二为纽约市立大学巴鲁克学院,第三为普林斯顿大学。
和其他排名不同,公立大学在这一榜单上名次更为抢眼。排名前十位中,公立大学占了7席。
MONEY的评比标准主要分为3大类共18条:
✔教育质量(1/3)
▪6年毕业率(30%):这一项被认为是最重要的影响指标之一。
▪增值毕业率(30%):这一项不同于学校的实际毕业率或预期毕业率,而是基于学生毕业时经济和学术表现,主要通过毕业时获得pell奖学金的学生比例来评分。
▪学生水平(10%):包含新生标化成绩(5%)及录取新生入学率(5%)
▪导师质量(10%):指师生比例
▪经济困扰(15%):指学校的财政困难。
▪佩尔奖助金受赠人成果(5%)。今年,我们增加了一项新措施,追踪一所学校毕业生获得佩尔助学金的人数,以分析学校对低收入学生的支持程度。
✔可承受度(1/3)
▪学位净价值(30%):指学生从入学到毕业所有的实际花费。
▪负债(20%):指学生毕业时所欠学生贷款金额(15%)和通过联邦政府贷款项目借款的平均金额(5%)。
▪学生贷款还款风险(15%):毕业五年之内还款学生比例及还款金额。
▪增值学生贷款还款方法(15%)
▪低收入家庭学生可承受度(20%)
✔产出(1/3)
▪毕业生收入(12.5%):包含毕业生起薪(毕业3年内)、职业中期薪资(毕业20年后)
▪不同专业收入调整(15%):根据payscale数据对不同学校不同专业毕业生起薪及职业中期薪资调整。
▪大学10年收益(10%):学生开始入读之后十年内获得的联邦经济补贴。
▪增值收益(12.5%):学校是否帮助在相似学术和经济背景下的学生找到比竞争对手更高薪的工作,调整了PayScale.com的收益数据——职业生涯早期收益(7.5%)和中期收益(5%)。
▪学校就业成果评分(25%):在大学入学6年后既没有工作也没有入学的校友比例(12.5%)和在大学入学6年后收入低于2.5万美元的校友比例(大致相当于高中毕业生的收入)(12.5%)
▪工作意义(5%):认为“自己的工作让世界更美好”的校友比例。
▪社会经济动态指数(20%):35岁时从低收入阶层上升至中层的学生比例。
从评价标准来看,money考虑的方面可谓非常全面了,既关注学校的教育质量,也关注学生实际的投资花费、社会经济情况及毕业后的发展和收入,同时,跟其他性价比排名略有不同的是,money更关注学校本身给学生带来的帮助,这也更加彰显了一所学校的价值。
